Rhombus Area CalculatorUse the rhombus area calculator to help calculate the area of a rhombus. A rhombus can be defined as a quadrilateral whose 4 sides are the same length. As discussed on the parallelogram page, the rhombus is a parallelogram where the sides are the same length.

To find the area of a rhombus you will use the same formula as the area of a parallelogram, base*height. Since all the sides share the same length then any side will be the length of the base. The height can be figured by intersecting any two parallel lines with a line perpendicular to the sides. If the rhombus has 4 right angles then it would be a square. The base and the height would be the same for a square so you would just multiply the length of any side times itself.

Instead of trying to remember which formula to use for which shape simply use our rhombus area calculator to calculate the area. simply enter the required information into the form fields and our calculator will do the rest. While we understand there are many area formulas for many different shapes, we highly recommend you try to learn the formulas and understand them, especially if you are using this for an educational resource.
